I put together some rought boards for our crit today just to help me organise my work and help others in the crit to understand what i am doing.
I started with design context and talked about what has influenced me and the work that i aim to be producing. i then explained my design direction and then what work i am already producing.
I got some really useful feedback from the group and have got some real direction for the rest of my work in the next week.
- handmade designs for packaging could be really nice if you experiment and develop them more. Could scan these in so that mock ups can be digitalised.
- Look into P.O.S for the store instead of or as well as packaging. how can the shelf be set up or how can labelling and branding further you development.
- Focus you designs on one product, e.g. cheese, design the labels and stickers and packaging for different types of cheese, instead of producing 6 different products. You could propose to do more products but as long as one is done fully then its easy to be applied.
- Look at Cheese branding in Tesco and Morrisons, has there been any re-branding, how do they use typography,
- What printing techniques are you going to use? is this important to what your doing?
- How is this going to be applied digitally? are you going to do an iphone app or a web page? you could look into a webpage for recipies that use these re-branded products. Or a web banner on the Morrisons website to promote these own brands. You could produce ditial icons that can be applied to the website and also the instore visuals.
- Be more specific about what you are doing, talk about surface graphics and the specific ideas you have to produce.
