Paper cutting and folding for idioms

With this project i wanted to explore into hand made type and imagery, so I started with really simple shapes cut from paper to try and illustrate simply the idioms i was looking at.

This was a simple experiment looking at 'The Big Cheese' how can i make it interactive and make it jump out at you.

again with 'The Big Cheese' looking at the cheese shape and how simply i can show what it is with shapes.

One of my first ideas was to look at 'Best think since sliced bread' so i cut strips of paper to make slices. as a concept i think it work well but i need to develop it further to get some more ideas.

'Apple and Oranges'-'Apples for Apples'-'Apples and Pears' very simple fruit shapes

'Don't put all your eggs in one basket' i weaved strips of paper to make a basket like surface and cut out simple egg shapes.

'Its the bread and butter' looking at bread shapes and sandwiches. i would then apply typography to the shapes.

I started cutting out typography from the paper to create a hand made type element to my work. This works really well but i dont think it could be applied to cucumber packaging very successfully.
